The PSVR2 headset has disappeared from the US PlayStation Direct store, prompting speculation that Sony may be winding down sales of the device. A search of the site found accessories, including the charging station and PC adapter, but no headset available to buy.
The headset has reportedly been missing from the US store for several weeks. According to Road to VR, its removal from regional PlayStation Direct pages began in mid-October, with links to the purchase page returning a 404 error. The PSVR2 remains listed on PlayStation Direct in the UK.
Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart still show PSVR2 stock, but the listings cited are from third-party sellers and include substantial markups. One example puts the headset at around $750 at Best Buy, making it harder to find at its recommended retail price.
