PlayStation has officially revealed the Prism Collection, a new series of accessories designed to offer a fresh perspective on the PS5 console and DualSense wireless controller. The collection features three striking transparent designs: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. These items include both controllers and matching console covers, each finished with a premium glossy sheen intended to highlight the craftsmanship behind the hardware.
The design team aimed to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late 1990s while ensuring it complements the industrial design of the PS5. Leo Cardoso from the Color, Material, and Finish team noted that fans had been anticipating the return of transparent controllers. The high-gloss clear finish extends across the back of the controller, allowing users to glimpse the internal technology while maintaining a sleek, monochromatic aesthetic.
Satoshi Aoyagi, also from the design team, explained that the metallic finish on the middle cover contrasts with the transparent surfaces for a premium look. The three selected colors were chosen to enhance this futuristic feel: Flare Orange offers a vibrant look with a subtle rosy hue where materials overlap; Emerald Green provides depth through its transparency; and Graphite Gray presents a cool-toned, refined appearance.
The Prism Collection DualSense wireless controllers will be available globally starting February 4, 2027. Pricing varies by region, with recommended retail prices set at SGD 115, MYR 419, THB 2,890, IDR 1,549,000, PHP 5,699, and VND 2,399,000. The matching PS5 console covers will be sold in limited quantities through select retailers for SGD 101, MYR 369, THB 2,590, IDR 1,359,000, PHP 5,099, and VND 2,099,000.
