Following the significant success of Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, publisher Ubisoft has officially confirmed that there are currently no other remakes of previous entries in the franchise under development. As of mid-July 2026, the title had already sold three million copies, a figure expected to have risen since then. While industry rumors suggested that future remake decisions would hinge on these sales statistics, Ubisoft has chosen to prioritize new content over revisiting older titles at this time.

In a detailed blog post, the publisher emphasized transparency regarding its current roadmap. The company stated that its teams are fully dedicated to the next chapter of Assassin's Creed titles, which includes undisclosed projects featuring new settings and stories. Despite halting active remake production, Ubisoft did not rule out the possibility entirely, noting their shared enthusiasm for revisiting classic titles and promising to continue exploring opportunities to bring older games back in the future.

Instead of announcing new remakes, the update focused on progress regarding two upcoming projects: Codename Hexe and Codename Invictus. Codename Hexe is described as a darker experience set during the witch trials. The development team acknowledged the long wait for fans but confirmed steady progress, with plans to share the next major update in 2027.

Simultaneously, the studio provided insights into Codename Invictus, an ambitious multiplayer project. The team reported a busy year that included a private Insiders Session where hundreds of players tested an early prototype and provided direct feedback. Ubisoft cautioned that online information regarding Invictus may be incomplete or inaccurate as the project remains in active development, with further updates promised as testing continues.
