Unverified gameplay footage allegedly from a Persona 1 remake has appeared online. The video is difficult to authenticate, particularly as AI-generated content has made it increasingly challenging to distinguish genuine game footage from fabricated material.
The clip reportedly shows combat involving characters from Persona 1, as well as Tatsuya Suou, the protagonist of Persona 2. It also appears to use animations associated with Persona 4 Revival, although this connection does not confirm the video’s legitimacy.
The possibility of a remake has previously been discussed by Persona series producer Kazuhisa Wada, who said that remakes of Persona 1 and Persona 2 are projects Atlus should eventually make. Their potential development has therefore remained an open secret among fans.
A similar leak reportedly appeared before the official announcement of Persona 3 Reload, but the latest footage remains unconfirmed and should be treated cautiously. Persona 4 Revival is scheduled for release on 17 February, making it unlikely that Atlus would launch two remakes in the same year. If the footage is genuine, the Persona 1 remake may still be some time away.
