The unique role-playing game Resonance of Fate has received a second remaster, this time arriving as an enhanced version for the PlayStation 5. Originally released on the PS3 and previously updated for the PS4, the title launches today on the latest console with specific improvements over its predecessor.

This new edition introduces two primary enhancements: superior graphics and the ability to accelerate gameplay. Towns and characters now feature upscaled textures, while a new decimation filter in the pause menu refines fine details like hair for a sharper presentation than the previous 4K/HD Edition. Additionally, the game supports native 4K visual output and HDR.

For players wishing to experience the title at a quicker pace, a new "2x Game Speed" option has been added. This feature allows field exploration, battles, and events to run at twice the speed of the original version.

Pricing for the release varies depending on existing ownership. Players who already own the PS4 version can upgrade to this PS5 edition for $10. Those purchasing the Enhanced Remaster outright will pay £28.99 or $34.99.

Resonance of Fate is known as an unusual RPG from the PS3 era that blends real-time and turn-based combat mechanics, utilizing guns instead of traditional swords. The game offers a runtime of over 50 hours. While the site has not reviewed the title, the original Xbox 360 version holds a Metacritic average score of 74. At the time of its release, Eurogamer described it as a hugely interesting and eccentric game that provides one of the most inspired approaches to the JRPG genre seen in a decade.
