The PS5 has experienced one of its busiest release periods in recent memory, with publishers reportedly scheduling games between the end of August and the beginning of November to avoid the expected impact of GTA 6’s imminent launch.

The resulting rush offered players an unusually wide selection of games, although the crowded calendar also made it difficult to play everything. Limited time and budgets meant that many players had to decide which releases deserved their attention.

A new poll focuses on the games players actually purchased and enjoyed during this period. Marvel’s Wolverine is highlighted as a likely popular choice because of the character’s appeal and its status as a PS5 exclusive, but the poll also points to a broad range of other releases.

Among the games mentioned are Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, Control Resonant, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Final Fantasy Resonance and Phantom Blade Zero. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered also competed for players’ time, while Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen was included despite being an expansion, as its size was compared with that of many full games.

The poll invites PS5 owners to select the titles they played during the pre-GTA 6 rush and share their experiences in the comments.
