S-GAME has released the first major update for Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 and PC. The patch includes bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, as well as a change to Hua, Deadly Betrothed, an optional boss in the Weeping Creek Valley region.

Hua’s grab attacks, which deal heavy damage to Soul, now occur less frequently on Wayfarer (easy) and Pathbreaker (normal) difficulty. The change does not apply to Hellwalker (hard) or the 66 Days modes, where the boss behaves as before.

Players can reach Hua’s arena at Sha-Chi Tower by dropping through a hole on the tower’s ground floor. The fight is available early in the campaign and can be a significant challenge if attempted as soon as it becomes accessible.

On PS5, update 1.3 also adds Hit Sound Intensity and Hit Impact Sound Intensity settings to the pause menu. S-GAME says the update further brings improved performance in certain areas, different combat behaviour for selected enemies and bosses, and improved weapon feedback.
