Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Season 1 goes live on November 6, bringing new content to Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone. The free update includes new maps and modes, weapons, Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints and DMZ Survival Kits.
At launch, Multiplayer adds three maps: Backstab, a war-torn landscape marked by abandoned tanks and a deserted dwelling; Canyon, set among towering rock walls; and a snow-covered version of Shoot House in North Korea. Grind and Drop Zone also return. In Grind, players collect eliminated opponents’ dog tags and take them to the Bank to score. Drop Zone has teams contest a rotating objective, with Killstreak packages periodically airdropped into the area.
More Multiplayer content is planned for mid-season, including Ministry, a map set around a damaged embassy, and Overflow, which features a factory and surrounding farmland. The new Counter Attack mode tasks players with detonating bombs at the enemy Comm Station while defending their own.
DMZ introduces X01, a weapon facility seized by enemy forces. Its tunnels and shifting hazards require planning and coordination, while closing extraction points mean squads must complete the necessary steps to escape. The location will also include new DMZ Orders, missions targeting major Boss threats and Resupply Runs.
Warzone will add two maps, Hajin and Zodiac, alongside additional modes and gameplay features. More details, including a full Season 1 roadmap for Warzone, are expected later.
The Season 1 Battle Pass adds the Cronen Osprey Assault Rifle and CSG-35 SMG. It includes more than 100 unlockable items and a catch-up system that can bring premium-pass owners who fall behind up to the reward matching the current day of the season, capped at day 50. Its 100-tier progression track includes Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints and Finishing Moves.
