HoYoverse is targeting the Animal Crossing audience with Petit Planet, its upcoming cosy game. The title will launch on PC and mobile on 4 December, while a Nintendo-switch-2/">Switch 2 version is planned for 2027.
The announcement was made during a Special Programme, where HoYoverse did not mention a PS5 release or any other consoles. That omission stands out because the developer has brought practically all of its releases to Sony’s system since Genshin Impact launched in 2020.
HoYoverse had previously intended to release Genshin Impact on the original Nintendo Switch, but that port never materialised. Petit Planet will therefore mark a new focus on Nintendo hardware if the announced Switch 2 version arrives as planned.
The game’s positioning has already led PlayStation fans to ask HoYoverse about a possible PS5 edition. However, the developer has not confirmed plans for other platforms. Players can watch a preview from the Special Programme and pre-register through the game’s official website to obtain various rewards.
