Kojima Productions and Disney+ have officially debuted the first teaser trailer for Death Stranding Isolations, a new anime television series set within the universe of the two PlayStation games. Revealed nearly a year ago, the project is now confirmed to launch on the streaming platform in 2027.

The series operates under the tagline "My mom became a crater" and is set immediately after Sam Bridges successfully connects North America to the Chiral Network. However, these renewed connections introduce new troubles into the world. The narrative focuses on characters who choose paths different from those of Sam and his Bridges comrades. These include a wise old man connecting people through unexplainable methods, a female soldier trapped in a cycle of war, a boy filled with rage at life's absurdity, and a girl who severed ties with the outside world only to be thrust into an unfamiliar reality by fate.

Hideo Kojima serves as the executive producer for the project, while Takayuki Sano takes on the role of director. The animation is being handled by E&H Production, known for their work on Ninja Kamui and Bullet/Bullet. Director Sano emphasized his sense of duty in adapting Kojima's vision, stating that entertainment has the power to enhance spirituality, a quality he aims to replicate in this production.

Death Stranding Isolations is part of a broader expansion of the franchise into film and television. Alongside this anime series, there are plans for a live-action Death Stranding film from A24 and an anime movie titled Death Stranding Mosquito.
